How is this different from using Excel?
Excel is useful, and many schools already use it for preparation. CarnivalHQ gives the carnival a more guided structure: events, students, houses, results and reports are already connected, so staff have one shared place to work from on the day.
What kind of laptop or PC do we need?
CarnivalHQ is 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11 software. A touchscreen can be helpful, but it is not required. A normal school laptop or PC is usually fine, as long as the screen is easy to read and the battery suits how you plan to use it. If you want to use more than one device, they will need access to your school network.
How does the licence work?
Pricing is an annual, per school site fee (quoted and invoiced in AUD, ex GST, with GST shown on your formal quote or invoice as applicable), with bands based on roughly how many students you have—see Pricing on this page. It is not a per-student subscription. When you go ahead, we email the download and setup steps to your school address.
Do we need a school server?
No—not for most schools. You can start with one suitable laptop, or add extra machines on your school network if you want more screens on the day. We help you keep the setup straightforward.
Is student data in the cloud?
No. The app is installed on your school's own devices. This website is for enquiries only, and licensed schools receive download and setup information privately by email.
Is CarnivalHQ available outside Australia?
CarnivalHQ is developed around the way Australian schools usually run carnivals, including language and reporting. If you are outside Australia and think it may suit your school, you are welcome to email us. We will confirm whether it is a good fit before you plan around it.
Annual school licence (ex GST)
All amounts on this page are in Australian dollars, exclusive of GST. For Australian schools, GST is added on your formal quote or tax invoice. Pricing is per school site and based on approximate student numbers. Each tier includes a little headroom, so a small change in numbers does not immediately move you into the next band. Please confirm the exact amount in your quote or email.
Every licence tier includes the full app — all carnival types, all features. The only difference between tiers is the student database limit.
